Got a pair of computer glasses from a local optometrist. What’s so “computer” about these glasses? Well, they come with yellow tint to ease your eyes while looking at bright monitors. And the prescription that it came with will make whatever you see a slight bigger.

After a few hours of experiment, I approve this product to my fellow Computer Dudes. For less than $300 bucks, you can get one too!

I got a new laptop from Dell. The Studio XPS 1645 featuring a powerful Core i7 processor with 4GB of DDR3 1333. Of course, I installed Windows 7 Ultimate that I received from the previous Microsoft event. Everything look and runs sweet. It came with a 9 Cell battery that last about 3 hours (Big screen, and that Quad-Core processor), I also picked up a 6 cell because I don’t need the bulkiness while using it at home.

Now I hope the price for SSD drives will drop soon…

Hahaha… This is funny. I’m glad I have an iPhone instead of a Zune 30. What would you do without music for 1 day?

Early this morning we were alerted by our customers that there was a widespread issue affecting our 2006 model Zune 30GB devices (a large number of which are still actively being used). The technical team jumped on the problem immediately and isolated the issue: a bug in the internal clock driver related to the way the device handles a leap year. That being the case, the issue should be resolved over the next 24 hours as the time change moves to January 1, 2009. We expect the internal clock on the Zune 30GB devices will automatically reset tomorrow (noon, GMT). By tomorrow you should allow the battery to fully run out of power before the unit can restart successfully then simply ensure that your device is recharged, then turn it back on. If you’re a Zune Pass subscriber, you may need to sync your device with your PC to refresh the rights to the subscription content you have downloaded to your device.

Customers can continue to stay informed via the support page on zune.net (zune.net/support).

We know this has been a big inconvenience to our customers and we are sorry for that, and want to thank them for their patience.

Q: Why is this issue isolated to the Zune 30 device?
It is a bug in a driver for a part that is only used in the Zune 30 device.

Q: What fixes or patches are you putting in place to resolve this situation?
This situation should remedy itself over the next 24 hours as the time flips to January 1st.

Q: What’s the timeline on a fix?
The issue Zune 30GB customers are experiencing today will self resolve as time changes to January 1.

Q: Why did this occur at precisely 12:01 a.m. on December 31, 2008?
There is a bug in the internal clock driver causing the 30GB device to improperly handle the last day of a leap year.

Q: What is Zune doing to fix this issue?
The issue should resolve itself.

Q: Are you sure that this won’t happen to all 80, 120 or other flash devices?
This issue is related to a part that is only used in Zune 30 devices.

Q: How many 30GB Zune devices are affected? How many Zune 30GB devices were sold?
All 30GB devices are potentially affected.

The ISO appears to contain the Windows 7 M1 build (7000) highlighted by Paul Thurrott on SuperSite. So far the new build seems to perform slightly better than 6801, and memory usage has been improved. A number of previously hidden features – like the iconized task bar – are also now active.

Before comments start asking why there’s no link to the file, it’s because this is something that we’re not supposed to have yet. If you want to get your hands on it, check your favorite torrent search site. Also keep in mind that this is a leak, and there’s always the possibility that the ISO has been tampered with.

I forgot to bring my iPhone to work today. But I was able to play with my co-worker’s iPhone after we updated (restored) the firmware to 2.0.

Exchange worked great on iPhone, we were able to download Emails, Contacts and Calendars off of our server. The crazy part is we can search users in our Active Directory, holy sheez! I’ll never have to carry my company phone (WM5 Treo) no more.

I hooked it up with the Citrix server, it’s smooth like rest of the thin-clients that are 4 times it’s size. No, you cannot play “Call of Duty 4″ on it. We use it for productivity stuff like Office and medical software. BTW, they have another cool model that mounts onto the wall, looks like a power outlet. I’ve also heard this will be the last service pack for Windows XP. Because XP SP3 aggregates all of the previously-released XP fixes, you will not need to install SP1 or SP2 first: XP3 includes everything that was in those updates as well. That said, the same SP3 installer will work fine on any version of XP, regardless of which service packs and fixes were previously installed. So far, it hasn’t kill my computer yet, and I haven’t noticed any difference yet. Though, it’s supposed to come with a few new features that aren’t useful to me yet.

These new features include:

Network Access Protection compatibility. Announced years ago, this feature allows Windows XP machines to interact with the NAP feature in Windows Server 2008. This functionality is built into the RTM version of Windows Vista as well.

Product Key-less install option. As with Windows Vista, new XP with SP3 installs can proceed without entering a product key during Setup.

Kernel Mode Cryptographics Module. A new kernel module that “encapsulates several different cryptographic algorithms,” according to Microsoft.

“Black hole” router detection algorithm. XP gains the ability to ignore network routers that incorrectly drop certain kinds of network packets. This, too, is a feature of Windows Vista.

The console is the remote itself. The funny thing is, you can hook up the 2nd remote (Sold separately, according to Eddie) simply by plugin the 2nd remote into the “console”. Besides Super Mario, I also played Contra. It feels kinda good playing these games on his 40 sum’n inch flat panel. But the hardwood floor that I sat on was kinda cold…

Finally, we’re able to use IMAP protocol on Gmail. Many of us are not familiar with IMAP, most of the time, people prefer or used to the term “POP3″. What are the difference? Which is better?

POP3 is a very popular email protocol used today, it connects to the email server via email client and download new/unread messages into your hard drive. You have the option to tell your email client (Outlook, Thunder Bird) to keep a copy on the server. But on most email services (Gmail, Yahoo Mail Plus) will still keep the email in unread condition for the web mail interface, which means when login to the web mail, you have some extra work to do (Check All, Mark as read.) if you already read these messages in your email client that is. And, this made it kinda hard to tell which message you’ve read and which you didn’t. Heck, I have couple hundred messages every time I login to Gmail web. Thanks to Google for filtering all (almost all) of the junk mails.

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) does it differently, when reading messages by email clients (Outlook. Thunderbird, iPhone ETC,.) via IMAP, it constantly connects to the email server, and tells the server “Hey, I read this message already. Now, mark it as read!” Bamm… The messages gets marked and no matter which computer or device you check your email with, again, will show that the messages has been read. Even when you login to the web mail interface.

For more information on IMAP, IMAP4 and/or POP3; Please visit WIKI.

You dig? Clearly, IMAP is much cooler! Okay fine, it’s up to you to judge.
